Gas Hot Water Tank Service
Burner cleaning and inspection for conventional gas storage tanks.

Have your gas water tank’s burner area cleaned and its operation checked. $149 + GST on its own, or $79 + GST during your furnace tune-up.
Eligible equipment
One accessible, operating residential atmospheric-vent natural-gas storage tank. Electric tanks, power-vent or condensing tanks, commercial equipment, boilers and tankless units need a separate scope and quote. Not sure which you have? Choose “Not sure” in the form and we'll check.
What's included
- Remove accessible dust and debris from the burner compartment and combustion-air openings, using the model’s prescribed servicing method.
- Inspect the pilot and thermocouple where fitted; clean serviceable components where appropriate under the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Check ignition, pilot and burner operation, and accessible venting and draft.
- Check for gas leakage at accessible connections, and for carbon monoxide around the operating appliance.
- Visually inspect accessible tank connections for leaks or corrosion, and the relief-valve discharge arrangement.
- Explain findings and quote any recommended additional work before proceeding.
This package covers burner cleaning and inspection. Tank draining/flushing, sediment removal, anode removal or replacement, parts and repairs are quoted separately.
The relief-valve discharge check is a visual inspection; the valve is not operated or function-tested as part of this package. Model-specific seals or parts, and any disassembly beyond this service, need an approved quote first.

Tankless Water Heater Descaling & Filter Service
$249 + GST per eligible unit
A water-side descaling flush and filter service for eligible residential gas tankless water heaters. $249 + GST on its own, or $199 + GST during your furnace tune-up.
Eligible equipment
One accessible, operating residential natural-gas tankless water heater with compatible, functioning hot and cold isolation valves and flush/service ports. Standard descaling solution and labour are included. We confirm the make, model and valve access before confirming the service. Solution, circulation time and rinsing follow your unit's manufacturer procedure, so the flush time varies by model.
What's included
- Circulate a manufacturer-compatible descaling solution through the water-side heat exchanger, then rinse according to the model’s instructions.
- Clean the serviceable water-inlet filter, and the accessible reusable air filter where fitted and specified.
- Visually inspect accessible water connections, intake and exhaust, and condensate drainage where fitted.
- Restore normal operation, then check for water leaks, hot-water operation and displayed faults.
- Explain findings and quote any recommended additional work before proceeding.
Working isolation valves and flush ports are required. Valve installation or replacement, fault diagnosis, repairs, replacement parts, burner disassembly and additional treatment beyond a standard descale are quoted separately.
Commercial or multiple-unit systems, combi boilers, space-heating systems and electric tankless units need a separate quote. A descale does not guarantee removal of every deposit or correct an existing fault.

What is the difference between the two services?
They are different services for different equipment. The Gas Hot Water Tank Service is burner cleaning and inspection for a conventional gas storage tank; it does not drain or flush the tank. The Tankless Water Heater Descaling & Filter Service circulates a descaling solution through a tankless unit's water-side heat exchanger and cleans its filters.
How much do they cost?
The Gas Hot Water Tank Service is $149 plus GST and the Tankless Water Heater Descaling & Filter Service is $249 plus GST, per eligible unit in Calgary. If the work is done during a paid furnace tune-up at the same address on the same visit, they are $79 and $199 plus GST.
Does the gas tank service include flushing the tank?
No. This package covers burner cleaning and inspection. Tank draining or flushing, sediment removal, anode removal or replacement, parts and repairs are quoted separately.
How do I know if my tankless unit qualifies?
It needs working isolation valves with service ports so it can be flushed. Tell us the make and model if you can, and we will confirm eligibility and valve access before confirming the service. If valves are missing or not working, we will explain the options and quote them for your approval first.
What if my water heater is not eligible?
We confirm eligibility before the appointment. If your equipment needs a different scope, we explain the alternatives and quote them. Nothing extra is done or charged without your approval.
